Are you considering private school for your child entering kindergarten through 12th grade? The Opportunity Scholarship helps North Carolina families pay for tuition and other required fees to attend registered private schools.
Currently, the program awards up to $7,000 based on a families household income. This scholarship is renewable each year, as long as the family meets eligibility requirements. Any tuition amount above the scholarship amount awarded to a student is the out-of-pocket responsibility of the parent.
New Scholarship Student Requirements:
- Must be at least 5 years old by August 31st or at least 4 years old by April 16th and approved for kindergarten according to the State of North Carolina guidelines.
- Must live in North Carolina.
- Has not graduated from high school
- Has not enrolled in a post-secondary institution full-time
Scholarship amount is determined by previous tax year household income. (You must report income).
